The Corridor Foundation is pleased to present Possible Worlds: A More Lovely Reality, the inaugural solo exhibition by Yi shi, an artist selected for our Young Artist Program. Co-organized by the Corridor Foundation and the 11 Contemporary Art Center, the exhibition explores how each choice may create a new universe, where every version of the self is real and valuable, regardless of identity or experience. It features new works from 2025 and opens on December 6, 2025.
“To imagine is to expand the ontology of the world.” — David Lewis
The concept of Possible Worlds was systematically developed by the philosopher David Lewis within the framework of his modal realism, which holds that every possible world is a concrete and genuine entity. A More Lovely Reality adopts this philosophical premise as its conceptual foundation and investigates how artistic practice may reconfigure the artificial boundaries of existence in the contemporary context.
It calls for a return to the primordial condition of the world, the undulating grasslands, the twinkling stars, the rhythmic breath of the sea, and the silent gaze of animals, which together offer an entry point for re-establishing a perceptual relationship with reality.
Through this process, perception acquires a tangible form and the texture of the world is restored with qualities of gentleness and loveliness.
Yishi portrays freedom and loveliness in a way that invites the viewer to rediscover the feeling of these concepts. Consequently, the structure of the world becomes more fluid, more tangible, and more open to imagination. Each artwork embodies a distinct potential and serves as a subtle reconfiguration of reality.
